Get a better legal advice, Online

May 16th, 2011

It can be mind numbingly tedious to search through the vast amounts of online legal blogs. If you are looking for the most valuable one that which has the best and the most up to date information, then there is a quick and an easy way to find them.

You will come across an overwhelming number of law blogs that are now available and unfortunately many of them with poor quality posts. These blog posts tend to be more of a sales pitch to spend money on a law firm’s services or law resource site products. Furthermore, some of these websites are not updated as frequently as it should be and so it is very likely that the information’s available on these sites are not only years old but also no longer relevant.

Obviously, these poor quality blogs hold no regard in the eyes of other law-related bloggers what’s more there are very few sites out there linking to posts with information of little to no value. The key is to know how to quickly identify which ones to trust for getting free legal answers to your legal questions and which ones to ignore or cast off.

Although there are law resource sites that list various blogs, it is important to remember that practically anyone can list their online legal blog. There really is not much quality control in these listings. The best way to find the top notch websites when you are looking for legal questions answered online is to use Google search.

Before you think about paying to ask a legal question, do a Google search for legal blogs. In a separate tab or window, open up a website stat checker such as BuzzMyStat.com. One by one, copy and paste each website URL from the first 20 Google search results into the stat checker input field. Once you enter the URL address and hit the enter button, the website stat checker will show you the rank statistics, search engine back links, pages indexed, social networks linked to that particular blog and also its Google Page Rank.

So, for better legal advice online keep above mentioned points in mind.

One Philadelphia Accident Attorney Hopeful That PA Passes Cell Phone Driving Ban

February 1st, 2010

On January 25, the PA House of Representatives passed a bill banning hand held devices while driving that would impose a $50 fine on drivers using cell phones without hands-free devices.  The Senate still has to vote on this bill.   Currently 7 states (California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Utah, and Washington) and the District of Columbia ban driving while talking or texting on a cell phone.

Findings on the increased use of Hand-Held Devices among all drivers were reviled in September 2009 during the Distracted Driving Summit in Washington, DC hosted by Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.   LaHood asked over 250 safety experts and industry representatives to help disclose the dangers distracted driving.

At the time, LaHood sited National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports showing nearly 6,000 people died and 500,000 people were injured in 2008 in crashes involving a distracted driver.  The report also stated that every day in 2008, 800,000 people using a hand-held cell phone were also driving.  The reports also show that the worst offenders are less than 20 years of age. For more information on the summit, watch Secretary LaHood’s video blog on distracted driving at www.dot.gov.

As a Philadelphia Accident Attorney I see the results of distracted driving on a daily basis, and I realize the importance of passing this bill.  I just hope the PA Senate follows the lead of the House and passes this legislation.
